Army dismisses reports soldiers are killing each other

The Nigerian army has dismissed report that soldiers from 21 Brigade have engaged in a mutiny and are shooting at each other.

It was reported that the soldiers drafted to put an end to the Boko Haram insurgency in the state and around the Sambisa Forestturned against their senior officers.

According to Premium Times, the soldiers had complained of maltreatment and then"began to shoot indiscriminately, threatening to kill any officer who stands on their way."

NAN however reports that the General Officer Commanding of the 7 Division of the Army Brigadier General Victor Ezegwu said there was no truth in the report that soldiers in the 21 brigade turn their guns on their commanding officers.

Colonel Kukasheka Usman who is the spokesperson of the army also shared pictures of the officers with Ezegwu hugging and talking without any indication of mutiny.
