MR WISDOM: GROW YOUR LIFE

 *“The most important personal-growth phrase you will ever hear a good leader say to you is ‘follow me’ ”*

First and foremost, we want to apologize for we were unable to send our message last week. It's due to network issue from our current location. We are delighted to have you always with us. As we know constantly that God is making a way for you through these teachings and as you consciously walk in the light of His wisdom, we know that your way is not too far from success. Life is not hard, it’s just full of some principles that we have to follow. You can only know and follow those principles through learning. Endeavour to learn your way to the top, *only the great learners are really great.* 

Within few weeks, we shall be looking at the *Law of Modelling* . I have discovered that it is hard to improve when you have no one but yourself. This law is simple but people are finding it difficult to obey. Majority find it easy to do it alone. There are few things that make this possible. All of us have pride, we want to remain who we are without another person’s interference. Also, we don’t know we need to learn life from others. These points and some few others make some people become too big to have a mentor. _A person who doesn’t have a mentor will never have the best of his life._ So, you must get a person who can show you the way, you have to follow someone.

You must be selective when it comes to choosing mentors and models.  Below are the criteria that will help:

1.    *A Good Mentor Is A Worthy Example:* They must not only display professional excellence and possess skill sets from which we can learn, they must also demonstrate character worthy of emulation. As you look for role models and mentors, scrutinize their personal lives as carefully as their public performance.  Your values will be influenced by theirs, so you shouldn’t be too casual who you choose to follow. Don’t follow anyone you are not sure of his value and character. Remember that you are likely to ride on your mentor’s reputation. So, consider the person’s reputation.

2.   *A Good Mentor Is Available:* As I am growing, I pay less attention to what people say.  I just timepiece what they do. For us to be actively mentored, we must have time with people to ask questions and learn from their answers. Teaching people what to do is easy.  Showing them is much more difficult. The greatest piece of advice I can give in the area of availability is that when you are looking for a mentor, don’t sprout too high too soon.  Spend the majority of time being mentored by people who are available, willing, and suited for the stage of your career. And as you progress in your development, find new available mentors for your new level of growth. There is always someone who can mentor you at your level of development. Don't be too expectant and go ahead to select a mentor who does not align with stage of growth. You may not have opportunity to meet him and this will not tailor into your life the right dosage of learning you have to take. Our prayer is that God will direct your mind to pick someone who will help you discover and nurse your potential.
