The most kernel of life is not to come to the world only, live for general course and go through a journey of no impact. The real living is in making impact, growing towards greatness and fulfilling purpose. However, if we want to fulfil purpose, we need to go through some processes that will increase our horizons, broaden our minds and give us adequate ability to accommodate what we are destined for. On this note, we appreciate God for how He has been helping us to fill the gaps that exist between our lives and success. As we take these conscious steps, it’s our prayer that God will energise our mind to take the chart.
In continuation of our previous discussion on the Law of Trade-offs, we discovered that it is necessary for us to give ourselves good explanations on things that worth trading off. We have realised that there are several risks that are profitable if we take them. Though, these risks come with fear that impedes some of us to take these necessary steps that will have opened us up to more advanced better life. Here are few worth of trade-offs as also emphasized by John Maxwell.
1. Be Willing to Give Up Financial Security Today for Potential Tomorrow: There are majority in this circle. So many people are too satisfied with what they have, It might be their job because of what they earn. Good salary is good, I must state here but there is never a secured job, a job is secured in the hands of the person who has it. Our total satisfaction should be on our personal development to become more effective. Growth will always demand you make major moves. Your job is good but you must ask yourself, “can I fulfil potential with this?’ if your answer is something ‘No’ please don’t be afraid to take a new move. You may experience pay cut. That doesn’t matter; what matter is the end result.
2. Be Willing to Give Up Immediate Gratification for Personal Growth: Personal gratification and personal development are enemy. There are two things I know that can stop people from growing. Gratification after success and displeasure after failure. But I want to pound on this that the two of them have no capacity to stop you. You only have control to let them stop you or not. If you taste success, don’t get too up and fail to try something better. Don’t think that is all you can, you can always do better. Also, don’t allow failure to inflict you with a virus of ‘I can’t’. We all always fail for better approach. Whatever your case, never settle for the less.
I have realised that we all desire to be good. There is never a complete bad person from within. Though, our actions might be contrary to what we have in mind. This shows that we can all be the good we are from within. We just need energy, fuel, fire and motivations to grow in the right direction. Don’t waste God’s resources over you, you are made to succeed.
