State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Arch. Olamilekan Adegbite, through his Media Aide, Mr. Adedayo Agida said, though, they are federal roads, yetthe rehabilitation work had become necessary, owing to the large volume of human and vehicular activities occurring on the roads on daily basis to make motoring more safer in the area.
“It is our duty to ensure that all the roads within Ogun State are in good condition, but due to paucity of funds, we have to strategically choose the roads to be rehabilitated in terms of importance,” he said.
The Commissioner explained that quite a number of Federal roads have been rehabilitated by the State in the past six and half years, adding that the State could no longer wait for the Federal Government, as the affected roads were critical to the socio-economic life of the people.
He assured that the State Government would not relent in its efforts at ensuring that all roads, not minding their classification, were put in good shape.
