The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 14, and Monday 17, as public holidays to mark the 2017 Easter celebration.
Making the announcement on behalf of the Nigerian government, the minister of interior Abdulrahman Dambazzau called on Christians to extend the spiritual benefits of Easter among all Nigerians.
Listing the benefits as love, peace, justice, sacrifice and kindness, the minister said, these will contribute to the daily living, unity and peace co-existence of Nigerians.
Dambazzau further wished all Nigerians a Happy Easter celebration.
Easter celebration will commence on Friday, April 14, all through Monday 17.
The period which typifies the death and resurrection on Jesus Christ is usually celebrated by Christians all over the world.
