SIBLING RIVALRIES

When I was a kid,I usually fights alot with my brother which is to the delight of many.I never understood until somedays ago when I started reflecting on the past.I thought perhaps it is because we are very close in terms of age gap.I mean I am only older than him for just a year and a half hence the battle for supremacy, the battle for who gets the attention .We fought for meaningless things like who to wash the dishes, fetch water, help mum at the shop, cloths, shoes and other meaningless things.
I remember when we were in secondary school(we went to the same school),we disagreed on what time to go home,I so much carried the I am the "egbon"mentality that i believed that my words are final and so another fight ensued.Later we decided to share the transport fare and go home our separate ways.
But now,we have both matured and learned how to respect each other's opinion without resulting into name calling or brawl. Our point of view always differ alot and if you must know we disagree on almost everything like politics, economics, football(even though we support the same team),religion(perhaps because he has read some logsam Rampa book)and entertainment. So you can imagine the argument everyday and everynight.
But one thing is that we have become friends, none of us is trying to outdo the other in any way,we have different personality;while he combines humility with arrogance,I am mostly arrogant.
The reason for my story is that alot of us always fight with our siblings and as a result of that,we won't be able to connect all through our adult years or some other times never .My brother and I is just an exceptional case among many.
So can you stop the fight today and call your brother, have a good chat and enjoy a bottle of beer together...
